Samnko Books (Pty) Ltd is a self-publishing company based in South Africa. We began publishing books in early 2014 as a sole trader, as a mobile bookstore in the sitting room, almost ten years ago, and managed to register with CIPC in 2018.
Since then, we have successfully published a variety of books and distributed educational materials in collaboration with the Gauteng Department of Education, as well as published emerging young black authors. During the expansion period, we added stationery supply to our service offering and were able to establish the Samnko Education Foundation in 2021, which is a Non-Profit Company, with the goal of focusing on capacity building, workshops, and seminars in creative and publishing.
We are a multi-capable independent publishing company led by passionate team members whose areas of passion revolve around books - our love for words and their meaning always give us a reason to work on different titles, from non-fiction and or fiction to children's books, though our area of speciality is fiction.
We do not publish academic books, but we are a rapidly expanding distribution, publishing, and book sales company that has supplied the Gauteng Department of Education with over 2000 titles from various authors for their school libraries throughout the province since 2016 and has proudly published more than 100 books since 2014.
Young African emerging writers of various ages and areas are a major focus of ours. This is not to say that other age groups will not be considered; we are all open to a variety of submissions. With the advancement of technology, we offer you the opportunity to see your words in print through digital distribution, which is done through online distribution whereby your book can be accessed online at major stores such as Amazon, Takealot.com, Google Books, Barnes & Nobles, Kindle Direct Publishing, and much more other available. Our project timeline ranges from 35 to 90 days, allowing you to receive your book within the specified time frame after approval. Because of the nature of our team-building strategy, this is possible.
It's heartbreaking to see your work rejected by a potential publisher after years or days of hard work and sleepless nights when all you wanted was to see your words in print and reap the benefits, spread the message, and add value to the book's development. There is no chance of your work being rejected by us, which is why we offer you a publishing consultation in which you will be given a fair chance to be given guidance on making sure your book reaches its target. It is our responsibility as writers to make you happy. You do not need to be concerned about any delays because we are collaborating with experienced freelancers.
